Humanoid Robotics Companies by Country (2026)

·10 min read·Robolist.ai Editorial

Humanoid robotics went from niche research to a bona-fide category in 2024–2025. As of 2026, dozens of companies ship or demonstrate general-purpose bipedal humanoids. This article maps them by headquarters country, with working links to each vendor’s Robolist.ai profile.

United States

Figure, Agility Robotics, Apptronik, Tesla (Optimus), 1X Technologies (US/Norway), and Boston Dynamics (US/Korea) form the core of the American humanoid push. See the humanoid category for current rankings.

China

Unitree, Fourier Intelligence, UBTECH, XPENG, LimX Dynamics, Kepler, AgiBot, and Galbot lead a deep domestic ecosystem, with Shenzhen and Shanghai as the two main hubs. Many of these vendors ship research units today and target light industrial work in 2026–2027.

Japan

Japan pioneered the category with Honda ASIMO and the HRP series. Today Kawasaki, Yaskawa, and several research-lab spinouts carry the torch, alongside newer humanoid-adjacent work at Sony.

South Korea

Hyundai’s ownership of Boston Dynamics and KAIST’s DRC legacy make Korea a quiet but serious player. Rainbow Robotics (KAIST spinout) is the main pure-play vendor.

Europe

PAL Robotics (Spain), Neura Robotics (Germany), and Oversonic Robotics (Italy) anchor the European humanoid scene, with a strong emphasis on collaborative factory roles rather than general-purpose home assistants.

What to watch in 2026

Three metrics separate demo-ware from product: payload at speed, continuous runtime, and unit shipments. Robolist.ai’s scoring penalizes vendors that publish cinematic demos without matching verified specs — you can see the full list filtered by verification tier on the humanoid leaderboard.
