Vyommitra is a humanoid space robot developed by ISRO for the Gaganyaan programme.
Vyommitra is a humanoid robot developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, with contributions from the Central Tools and Training Centre (CTTC) in Bhubaneswar. It is designed to function aboard the Gaganyaan spacecraft, where it will monitor cabin parameters, operate control panels, and simulate human activity during uncrewed and crewed missions. The robot supports India’s human‑spaceflight ambitions by testing life‑support systems, microgravity operations, and emergency procedures before astronauts fly.
