Overview
Boss is an autonomous Chevy Tahoe SUV that won the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge. It is capable of tracking other vehicles, detecting obstacles, and planning the best path through a road network. The vehicle is equipped with advanced sensors including cameras, LIDAR, radar, IMU, and GPS systems, and took 50,000 hours of work to develop into a fully autonomous robot.
