Overview
DASH is a lightweight, insect-inspired hexapod robot designed for search-and-rescue and remote sensing applications. It can run at speeds up to 1.5 m/s (15 times its own body length per second), climb over obstacles, and survive falls from any height. The robot features a paper composite body with polymer flexure joints, powered by a single DC motor for leg movement and a shape-memory-alloy servomotor for steering.
