Overview
Salamandra robotica II is an amphibious robot inspired by the salamander's anatomy and nervous system. It's used to study robot locomotion and test neurobiological models in real environments. The robot features a control system based on a mathematical model of the salamander's spinal cord and can move on land or in water while transitioning between environments. With 12 degrees of freedom and 12 Faulhaber DC motors, it demonstrates bio-inspired locomotion capabilities.
