Overview
The FarmDroid FD20 is a fully autonomous, solar-powered field robot that performs precision seeding and mechanical weeding. It uses RTK GPS with 8mm accuracy to mark crop placement at seeding and subsequently performs inter-row and intra-row weed control. The robot is powered by four solar panels and a battery pack, enabling up to 24 hours of daily CO2-neutral operation. It supports over 100 different crops and vegetables, reduces chemical use by up to 94% (with spray system), increases yield up to 40%, and minimizes soil compaction due to its 1250 kg weight. Over 500 units are deployed across 26 countries.
