A*STAR Social Robotics Lab

A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research) is a Singapore-based research organization that developed OLIVIA, a humanoid social robot designed as a receptionist and research platform for social robotics technologies. OLIVIA features face and eye tracking, speech recognition via eight head-mounted microphones, gesture learning, and natural language understanding capabilities. The robot has been deployed in office reception settings and serves as a testbed for evaluating social robotics technologies including computer vision, speech recognition, and human-robot interaction.
