NASA and DARPA

Robonaut 1A is a remotely operated humanoid robot developed jointly by NASA and DARPA as an experimental astronaut assistant. It is designed to handle tools and small objects with dexterity, capable of performing tasks required of EVA-suited crewmembers. Robonaut 1A was developed at NASA's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, as part of the Dexterous Robotics Laboratory program.
