Overview

Kaspar is a child-sized humanoid robot with simplified yet expressive features designed for social robotics research and robot-assisted therapy with children with autism. The robot features a fiberglass body with a silicone rubber face capable of showing different expressions, and can operate in fully autonomous, semi-autonomous, and remote-controlled modes. With 17 degrees of freedom and equipped with cameras and touch sensors, Kaspar serves as a safe, non-threatening mediator for encouraging social interaction in research and therapeutic settings.
