The Waseda Flutist is a humanoid robot capable of playing the flute with human-like proficiency. It features artificial lungs, mouth, and tongue modeled on human organs, along with flexible arms and fingers. The robot has 41 degrees of freedom and is equipped with actuators, sensors including CCD cameras and microphones, enabling it to process visual and aural cues when performing with human musicians and other robots.
