
Overview
Boss is an autonomous Chevy Tahoe SUV that won the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge. It is capable of tracking other vehicles, detecting obstacles, and planning the best path through a road network. The vehicle is equipped with advanced sensors including cameras, LIDAR, radar, IMU, and GPS systems, and took 50,000 hours of work to develop into a fully autonomous robot.

- CompactPCI board with 10 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, each with 2 GB of memory and Gigabit Ethernet ports. Each computer boots off of a 4 GB flash drive. Two of the machines also mount 500 GB hard drives for data logging.[2]
