Overview
The Mazor™ robotic guidance platform from Medtronic combines surgical navigation with operative planning to enable more efficient and precise spinal surgery. The system integrates preoperative planning software with automatic anatomy recognition, allowing surgeons to visualize and optimize spinal elements in relation to one another. Key planning capabilities include patient alignment, patient-specific rod integration (UNiD™), pedicle screw placement, interbody cages, osteotomies, facet decortication, and skin incisions. The platform integrates with the Midas Rex™ MR8™ and Stealth-Midas™ high-speed drill systems for bone preparation, running at speeds up to 75,000 rpm. The Stealth-Midas™ drill features a permanently attached tracker enabling intraoperative navigation and real-time visualization. The Mazor™ system is designed to improve predictability, precision, and visibility during spinal procedures, and works alongside complementary Medtronic products including the O-arm™ surgical imaging system and StealthStation™ S8 planning station.
