ANYmal

Overview

ANYmal is a rugged, autonomous four-legged robot designed for inspection and manipulation tasks in harsh environments. It uses sensors to scan terrain and avoid obstacles, and can operate in rain, snow, wind, waterlogged rooms, and dusty environments. The medium-sized, dog-like robot weighs about 30 kg and stands roughly half a meter in height, featuring modular sealed ANYdrive joint units with high-bandwidth torque control and impact robustness. Powered by lithium-ion batteries for 2-4 hours of operation, ANYmal executes various gaits including walking, dynamic trotting, and climbing steep stairs while consuming less than 280 W at full-speed running.
