Overview
The UWORLD U1 is UBTECH's full-size, mass-produced humanoid robot series, unveiled on June 30, 2026 in Shenzhen. Its defining feature is a fully customizable, lifelike appearance: soft silicone skin, real hair, and manicured nails, with 3D facial reconstruction and voiceprint replication that UBTECH says can make a unit resemble a specific person — a celebrity, a fictional character, or a loved one. It comes in male (183 cm) and female (168 cm) bodies and three performance tiers: the semi-torso U1 Lite (from RMB 119,800, about US$17,600), the full-body U1 Pro, and the high-dynamic U1 Ultra (RMB 990,000, about US$145,000). Each unit has 88 degrees of freedom and a dual-pivot biomimetic cervical spine, with 2–4 hours of battery life and local encrypted memory. UBTECH positions it as a consumer AI companion whose emotion-aware model it says recognizes more than 20 emotional states; stated use cases include companionship, elder care, reception, hospitality, tourism, and education. Pre-orders opened on JD.com on June 2, 2026, with first deliveries scheduled for mid-September 2026; UBTECH reported more than 13,000 orders at launch.
