The traffic light then turned green and the Waymo AV remained stopped for the passenger of the SUV standing to the left of the Waymo AV. Once the passengers entered the SUV, the Waymo AV proceeded forward, and the opened rear right door made contact with the rear left side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage. The Waymo AV was traveling eastbound on [XXX] in the left lane as a [XXX] train traveling eastbound was stopped to the left of the Waymo AV. As the Waymo AV approached the intersection with [XXX], intending to continue straight, an SUV traveling southbound across [XXX] emerged from behind the [XXX] train and crossed the dedicated [XXX] rail tracks directly in front of the [XXX] train and into the Waymo AV's lane of travel. The right side of the SUV made contact with the front left side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage. On September [XXX], 2025 at 7:14 PM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a bus on [XXX] near [XXX]. The Waymo AV was parked at the curb facing east on [XXX] for a passenger pick-up. A bus stopped in a queue of traffic in the adjacent lane began to reverse and change lanes to the second from the right lane. As the bus proceeded to change lanes, the right side of the bus made contact with the rear left side of the stationary Waymo AV. On September [XXX], 2025 at 2:56 PM ET a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Atlanta, Georgia was in a collision involving a cyclist on [XXX] near [XXX]. A Waymo AV was traveling north on [XXX] near the intersection with the [XXX] when it approached the [XXX] shared use bicycle/pedestrian trail. As the AV approached the crossing with the trail, a cyclist traveling east on the trail approached the crossing with the roadway and continued into the roadway without stopping at the stop sign controlling bicycle traffic from the trail. The bicycle then made contact with the rear driver side of the Waymo AV and the impact caused the cyclist to fall from their bicycle. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV and the bicycle sustained damage. On September [XXX], 2025 at 1:21 AM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Tempe, Arizona was in a collision involving a motorcycle on [XXX] at [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling north in the rightmost lane on [XXX] and began slowing with its right turn signal activated in preparation for a right turn into a parking lot at [XXX], yielding to a pedestrian crossing the driveway entrance to the parking lot on the right-hand sidewalk. While the Waymo AV was slowing with its right turn signal activated, a motorcycle in the rightmost lane approached the Waymo AV from behind and the front of the motorcycle made contact with the rear left corner of the Waymo AV. The impact with the Waymo AV resulted in the motorcyclist falling from the motorcycle and into the roadway to the left of the Waymo AV. Immediately afterwards, a passenger car in the second-from-the-rightmost lane passed the Waymo AV on the left and struck the motorcyclist in the roadway. The passenger car did not stop and left the scene. The motorcyclist was transported from the scene to a hospital, where they were declared deceased. At the time of impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode, and the Waymo AV was not carrying passengers. Following contact with the motorcycle, the Waymo AV came to a complete stop and remained stopped until the vehicle was towed away several hours later. The Waymo AV and the motorcycle sustained damage. The extent of the damage to the passenger car that left the scene is unknown at this time. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 1 of Standing General Order 2021-01 because of a fatality. On August [XXX], 2025 at 12:42 PM MT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Phoenix, Arizona was in a collision involving a section of removed pavement on [XXX] near [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling southbound through a construction zone on [XXX] in the rightmost lane delineated by a line of temporary orange pylons when it approached a parked construction truck in its lane of travel with a mounted arrow board displaying a flashing left arrow. The Waymo AV changed lanes to continue traveling southbound on [XXX] to the left of the line of pylons. As the Waymo AV continued to follow the path delineated by the pylons, it encountered a section of the pavement that had been removed creating a drop in the lane surface, and the front left wheel proceeded over the section of removed pavement.. On August 16, 2025 at 7:47 AM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a heavy truck on [XXX] and [XXX]. On August [XXX], 2025 at 12:18 PM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving an SUV on [XXX] near [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling southbound on [XXX] when it came to a stop to park in-lane for a passenger drop-off with its hazard lights activated. An SUV that was traveling behind the Waymo AV came to a stop behind the parked Waymo AV. While the Waymo AV remained stationary, the SUV proceeded to maneuver around the left side of the Waymo AV by crossing the double yellow center line and entering the opposing lane of travel. As the SUV passed the stationary Waymo AV the right side of the SUV made contact with the rear left side of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. Both vehicles sustained damage. On August [XXX], 2025 at 2:48 AM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a heavy truck on [XXX] at [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling southbound on a narrow portion of [XXX] with vehicles parked at the curb in both directions when it approached a heavy truck that was traveling northbound on [XXX]. The Waymo AV reversed to yield to the heavy truck and came to a stop at the curb at the intersection with [XXX]. The heavy truck proceeded forward past the Waymo AV and began a left turn onto westbound [XXX] and the left side of the heavy truck made contact with the rear left of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage. The passenger in the Waymo AV alleged a minor injury and was transported to a hospital in an ambulance. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 1 of Standing General Order 2021-01 because an individual involved was transported from the scene to a hospital for medical treatment and a vehicle involved was towed away.
