Overview

Elios is a collision-tolerant drone designed for industrial inspections in hazardous and confined spaces. It can help operators remotely access boilers, tanks, pressure vessels, tunnels, and other complex environments in plants. The drone features a protective cage to prevent collision damage and is inspired by the stability mechanisms of insects. With Full HD and thermal cameras, Elios enables preliminary inspections with lower costs and reduced risk compared to traditional methods. It operates in narrow and highly cluttered areas, including inside buildings, and is used across power generation, oil and gas, chemicals, maritime, utilities, and public safety industries.

Flagship features

  • Collision-tolerant design for confined space inspection
  • Surveying Payload uses Ouster OS0 128-beam REV 7 LiDAR with 10x photon sensitivity
  • FARO Connect integration for post-processing
  • Accuracy: 0.1% drift in structured environments with Surveying Payload; higher drift in symmetric or narrow spaces
  • Handheld scanning mode also available (10 min scan time)
  • Requires FlyAware software for data processing
